Editorial Guidelines

(ISOKA COMMUNITY RADIO)

  • As ISOFM, we shall report news that is factual, accurate, balanced, objective, informative and relevant to the community.
  • We shall produce news and programs that are predominantly local and local content.
  • We shall produce news and programs on a wide range of subject and issues such as agriculture, health etc. that reflect needs and aspirations of the people and contribute ton the general development of the community
  • We shall give equal treatment in our news and programs to all people in the community, regardless of sex, gender, tribe, race, religion, sexual orientation and political affiliation.
  • We shall produce and broadcast programs that reflect the culture diversity of the community.
  • As ISOFM, we shall operate in accordance with the Independent Broadcasting Authority Act, the penal code. The State Security Act and the provision of the supreme law and of land — the Constitution of the Republic of Zambia.
  • As a radio station, we shall give members of the community a platform to hold public office bearers accountable.
  • In an effort to maintain our editorial independence and avoiding being compromised, we shall not receive cash incentives or gifts from source and potential funds.
  • Staff members of ISOFM will declare interest in instances where their relatives may be involved in the news they are required to report.
  • As a station, we shall respect the cultures and traditions of the people who make up our listening community in our news and programs.
